A meeting with Doctor Kari Synberg was held at the Budget monitoring center of PertSU. Doctor Synberg is a finnish researcher of migration processes and a board member of Geographical Society of Finland. During the meeting, doctor Synberg presented Geographical Society of Finland and its activities particularly in the field of migration study and told about some transborder projects he implemented in Russian regions.

There were several presentations from Budget monitoring center staff as well: “Budget Monitoring Center activity”, “The study of foreign labour migration at BMC” and “International cooperation prospects of BMC”.

As a result of the meeting an agreement was made to initiate a joint Russian-Finnish research project devoted to labour migration and economic development of northern regions of Russia and Finland.
